To mitigate the unprecedented socio-economic impacts of the pandemic, governments worldwide scaled up social protection programmes to deliver rapid financial support to those most in need. Low and lower-middle-income countries have had to resort to borrowing to cover budget deficits, leading to reduced fiscal space in the medium-term.
This webinar will address these concerns and explore alternative sources of financing social protection and the importance of embedding disaster risk financing to build resilience to future shocks.
